Over the years I have cruised on just about every cruise line and have experienced something I would consider a luxury on each one. That got me thinking what does luxury mean to you?
Webster's dictionary defines luxury as -
1: a condition of abundance or great ease and comfort
2a: something adding to pleasure or comfort but not absolutely necessary
one of life's luxuries
b: an indulgence in something that provides pleasure, satisfaction, or ease
Even if you do not think of yourself as a luxury shopper based on that definition all vacations would be defined as a luxury. So no matter what type of vacation you take you are buying a luxury. Not all vacations are equal though so there are levels of vacations and you might splurge on one and save on another. So I would really like to know what you consider to be a luxury on your vacations?
Is it getting a balcony stateroom or upgrading to a suite?
Is it indulging in fine dining?
Is it having a private area of the ship?
Is it having a butler?
Is it no kids allowed?
Is it staying in a fancy hotel?
You might not think you can afford a luxury vacation but when you look at vacation planning in a different way you can absolutely afford a luxury because you are the one that decides what luxury means to you. Don't avoid a luxury brand because you think it isn't in your budget or because you don't think that is your type of crowd. You might be surprised to find that getting to splurge and spoil yourself for a week or so really is worth it and you deserve it!
